A typical workshop uses a variety of methods including PowerPoint presentation, personal reflection and group work. Examples of some of the subjects covered in the training include:
-Introduction to Bereavement -Impact of Bereavement -Phases of Grief -Factors Affecting Grief -Qualities of a Helper
The workshop enables participants to attain a better understanding of the complex phenomenon of bereavement. Feedback from workshop participants has been very positive:
• “This training has taken the fear and mystique out of bereavement support. I feel I will be more at ease and confident to listen effectively to bereaved people.”
• “Extremely informative. An excellent session. Highly recommended to others.”
All profits from the training go towards supporting the development of services provided by Cruse therefore, not only are organisations addressing their training needs, they are also contributing to the welfare of the thousands of bereaved people that contact Cruse (NI) each year.
